What you need to know before you go

Destin, Florida has been called the worlds luckiest fishing village and offers anglers the chance to fish in the pristine emerald blue green waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Most of Destin's fishing fleet specializes in deep sea bottom fishing for grouper, amber jack, scamp, trigger fish, snapper and cobia. Some charters venture out further, about 27 miles southwest of Destin, where you can troll for white marlin, blue marlin, sailfish, dolphin and wahoo. Charter fishing boats are available for half day, all day, and over night.

Destin also has a few party boats which go out for all day and half day trips. They can accommodate 25 to 105 persons and are more affordable than hiring an entire charter boat for yourself.
