Museums in the Florida Panhandle
What you need to know before you go

Because of the huge military presence in the region, the Florida Panhandle hosts many excellent aviation museums that shouldn't be missed. The Air Force Armament Museum on the grounds of Eglin Air Force Base is completely free and includes acres of historic planes and a building full of amazing weaponry. Similarly, the National Naval Aviation Museum located on the grounds of Pensacola Naval Air Station offers a hands-on history of Naval Aviation that includes more than 150 aircraft.

In Pensacola, the 20 buildings that make up Historic Pensacola Village bring to life the history of the Florida Panhandle while in Destin you can trace the history of the 'Worlds Luckiest Fishing Village' at the Destin History and Fishing Museum.

Picnic on 30 miles of undeveloped shoreline with bays, sand dunes, sea turtles.
