On-shore resorts and theme parks offer swims with captive dolphins, which are trained to perform stunts and interact with humans. They will do toe pushes and body rubs, and you can enjoy dorsal fin rides.

Wild dolphins in the Gulf are typically very shy and wary of humans. And, there are limitations on what participants can do - no touching, feeding, or any kind of aggressive swimming around them is allowed. But, you get to see dolphins in their natural environment.
