The Space Coast could also be called the 'Turtle Coast' due to the large numbers of sea turtles that make their home here. Its beaches attract the largest population of nesting loggerhead sea turtles in the world.

The twenty mile section of coastline from Melbourne Beach to Wabasso Beach is the most important nesting area for loggerhead sea turtles in the western hemisphere -- 25% percent of all loggerhead sea turtle and 35% of all green sea turtle nests in the United States occur in this twenty mile zone.

Only a handful of groups are licensed to offer walking tours of the beach during nesting season to see the turtles, which we've compiled a list of below.
