Planning Your Titusville Vacation What you need to know before you go
Titusville is the gateway to the Kennedy Space Center and the Canaveral National Seashore -- a place with lots of hidden treasures for the outdoor enthusiast.
Just north of Titusville, the pristine waters of Mosquito Lagoon offers anglers world class saltwater flats fishing and a chance for Kayakers to view Florida wildlife up close and personal -- paddling through the mangrove-lined channels to see playful raccoons, ibis, heron and osprey.
The Canaveral National Seashore is a barrier island that features ocean, beach, dunes, hammock, lagoon, salt marsh and pine flatland habitats. This 24 miles of beachfront is undeveloped, so be sure to bring any supplies you may need for the day. The Kennedy Space Center occupies the southern end of the island and temporary closures are possible due to launch-related activities.
The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is located southeast of Titusville on SR405, which has morphed itself into a full-fledged amusement park -- with the exorbinate entrance fee one would expect. Experience interactive simulators, live shows, jaw-dropping encounters with massive rockets, and the chance to meet a real NASA astronaut. On launch days, find a spot early along the roads in Titusville to get a great view of the launch from across the bay -- and feel the earth shake beneath your feet.
